Start Date/Time: October 12, 2013 - 8:30 am
End Date/Time: October 12, 2013 – 11:30 am
Author Nina Bennett and American Idol alumni Gina Glocksen will join area families as they honor babies that have been lost too soon at Naperville’s 9th Annual Walk to Remember on Saturday, Oct. 12, 2013.
Nina is the author of Forgotten Tears: A Grandmother’s Journey Through Grief, and provides a new perspective, sharing a grandmother’s story for the first time with walk participants. She has four grandchildren, one of whom was stillborn following a healthy pregnancy, and has worked in reproductive health since 1976. Nina is frequently a guest lecturer, speaking around the country. She is also the Principal Investigator of a research study looking at how grandparents incorporate perinatal loss into their families.
Gina Glocksen, best known for her 9th place finish on Season 6 of American Idol, will lend her voice to the cause and the memorial service singing before the attendees begin to walk.
The walk will be held at the Riverwalk Grand Pavilion in Naperville and benefits the Edward Foundation’s SHARE Program – a nurturing place for those who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. Help SHARE continue its mission touching lives, healing hearts and giving hope to families who have experienced pregnancy and infant loss.
