This event is the major fundraiser for the Cadence Health Auxiliary and will benefit the Ronald McDonald House® near Central DuPage Hospital and LivingWell Cancer Resource Center in Geneva. The House, which opened in January 2015, provides a ‘home away from home’ for families of children with complex medical needs. LivingWell, provides comfort, resources and community for cancer patients and their families.
The Cadence Health Auxiliary has raised and donated more than $10 million to the hospitals and communities it serves. Some of the Auxiliary funded projects include a $5 million pledge to help fund the building of the Ronald McDonald House® near Central DuPage Hospital, a $500,000 pledge to the LivingWell Cancer Resource Center in Geneva, partial funding of the Douglas L. Johnson Endowed Chair for Neurosciences Award, a $1 million pledge to the Cadence Cancer Center in Warrenville, support of Dr. Cornwell and HomeCare Physicians, creation of CDH nurse respite lounge and support of the Palliative Care Shawl program. In addition, since 1967, more than $1 million has been donated to annual scholarship awards that are presented to students majoring in healthcare careers.
Shopping at the CDH and Delnor Hospital Gift Shops and the Wise Penny Resale and Consignment Shop (located downtown Wheaton) further supports the many philanthropic efforts of the Cadence Health Auxiliary.
