Mei-Ann Chen leads a stirring tribute to the civil rights leader and his dream for a new generation by featuring today’s youth in a powerful, moving show. The concert opens with a new symphony from an African-American teenager, moving into a sacred moment when child prodigy Sujari Britt performs “Saint-Sa�ns’ Cello Concerto.” The program includes young Chicagoans providing a fresh take on the orchestra’s performance of Copland’s “Lincoln Portrait.” The evening ends with the powerhouse Waubonsie Valley Mosaic Choir offering a global take on King’s legacy through a variety of gospels and spirituals. 3 p.m. at Wentz Concert Hall, 171 E.
