Location: Wentz Concert Hall at North Central College, Naperville, IL 60540
Start Date/Time: May 11, 2014 - 3 p.m.
End Date/Time: May 11, 2014 – 5 p.m.
Experience a mood-setting juxtaposition between the ethnic identities of the Eastern European Jews and the Chinese, which are connected by the Silk Road. Led by Mei-Ann Chen, the performance moves from Jewish culture with gypsy-jazz tinged Klezmer music, to being entranced by the lush, lyrical sounds of the guzheng, a Chinese folk instrument. The guest appearances will include Maxwell Street Klezmer Band and Su Chang, featuring works by Levinson, Shapiro/Cheng and Enescu. 3 p.m. in Wentz Concert Hall at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Avenue. For tickets and more info, finearts.northcentralcollege.edu.
