The Senior Suburban Orchestra, now in its 26th season, will commemorate America’s 250th anniversary with a program of music by American composers. Patriotic selections will include “The Stars and Stripes Forever” and “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” including a narration of the Declaration of Independence. Also featured will be Aaron Copeland’s “Fanfare for the Common Man” and “An Outdoor Overture.” A Tribute to Duke Ellington and a sing-along of familiar songs from The Sound of Music will fill out the second half of the program. Free, donations appreciated.
