Rotary Hill will once again provide the gorgeous setting for Naperville’s 2015 Healing Field of Honor®. Thousands of U.S. flags posted to create a sea of red, white and blue that will form an inspiring and lasting memory as the residents from Naperville and surrounding communities unite to honor our veterans.The theme for this year’s event is “50 Years of Healing” commemorating the Vietnam War as we honor and remember the 3 million service men and women who left family and friends to fight a politically unpopular war far from home. 58 thousand died serving in Southeast Asia leaving behind family and friends who yet carry the burden of their loss. Returning veterans of that conflict did not receive the welcome home they so richly deserved. Nevertheless, the passage of five decades has brought awareness that the men and women of our armed forces, sent to fight on foreign battlefields, earn the support and thanks of their fellow countrymen. The Naperville 2015 Healing Field of Honor® field of flags will stand as a solemn tribute to those who fought and died during the Vietnam War.
