I Hate Hamlet is a production that takes place in a New York City flat, where John Barrymore lived during his time. Young aspiring actor Andrew Rally has reluctantly accepted the role of Hamlet in the Shakspeare in the Park edition of Hamlet. Coming from a Los Angeles TV star background, he has trouble with connecting to the classical character and play. Andrew’s very eccentric realtor, Felicia, accidentally summons the ghost of John Barrymore to help teach him the role. Meanwhile, Andy struggles with temptation with his chaste girlfriend, Deirdre, as well as trying to balance his real life while having a ghost constantly by his side, and deciding between his successful television career or going back to his theatre roots.
