The 20th annual Chicago Polar Plunge offers fearless cold weather warriors the opportunity to take part in an unforgettable day, for an incredible cause. Benefiting the 7500 athletes of the Special Olympics Chicago program, the Chicago Polar Plunge takes place at North Avenue Beach, and has become the must-attend winter event in the city. In 2019, the event attracted more than 4000 plungers and raised more than $1.8 million dollars. This year, in honor of the 20th Anniversary, the organization hopes to reach $2 million. Plungers through the years have included former Mayor Rahm Emanuel, “The Tonight Show” host Jimmy Fallon, actors Vince Vaughn and Dax Shepard, musician/artist Lady Gaga, the casts of Chicago FireChicago PD, and Chicago Med, and personalities from The TODAY Show.
