Between 1915-1970, almost six million Black citizens fled the South in pursuit of better lives and opportunities in northern and western cities. In The Warmth of Other Suns, Pulitzer Prize winning author and National Humanities Medal winner Isabel Wilkerson chronicles this often-untold facet of American history through the lives of three unique individuals. Participants will read the book and join a discussion led by the museum staff. Program takes place in the second-floor gallery and includes after-hours access to exhibits. Registration required.
