In 1925 Colonel Robert R. McCormick invested in the new world of radio and founded WGN. In 1940 he launched Chicago Theater of the Air. Travel back in time to a re-creation of this radio program with a unique adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s classic The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. This one-hour show will follow Dotty, a plucky Chicago journalist, after a freak tornado blows Aunt Em’s Boarding House for Girls to the wonderful land of Oz. The characters, while familiar, have a new 1920s twist that will have you laughing the whole way down the Yellow Brick Road. Free admission with $10 parking.
