Faux Real

Decorative plants and trees are a great way to bring texture, softness, and a touch of green into a room. “This homeowner really loves real plants and she has them all over,” says interior designer Shannon Peppeard of this Geneva home. “But not everyone wants the upkeep of real plants.” Artificial plants are an option but admittedly get a bad rap for looking, well, fake. “There’s some really bad stuff out there,” Peppeard says.
In the dining room, “that’s a real plant on the right, and on the table that’s a vase from [my shop] The Pep Line with faux greenery,” she says. “I search high and low for the right faux. The stuff that I bring into my shop is very, very real looking and this just goes to show, there is a real plant and a faux plant in the same room, and you wouldn’t know.”
