This luxe Naperville townhome invites buyers to scratch that Chicago-style brownstone itch

When most people think of a luxury suburban residence, they tend to envision a sprawling house across a multiacre lot. But in the highly coveted—and densely packed—area around Naperville’s bustling downtown core, that kind of stretching out is rarely feasible.

The solution? Build up.

That’s the philosophy behind the townhome at 932 E. Chicago Ave., now on the market for $1.589 million, which takes a page from classic city living by stacking upward—all without missing a luxe beat on the climb. Built in 2022 as part of the boutique Chicago Commons on the Park community, the home and its neighbors nod overtly to classic Chicago-style architecture with their brownstone-inspired masonry.

Inside, meanwhile, the four bedrooms and six bathrooms across more than 4,600 square feet quickly put to rest any notion that the vertical configuration might result in a sacrifice of viable living space. The second level boasts an open layout feel, with the kitchen, family room, and dining room all flowing freely while sharing the light-filled space. And no yard is no problem with two outdoor decks—a grilling deck off the kitchen and a rooftop area engineered to support a hot tub, should the impulse strike.

Of course, those five floors might seem more than a little intimidating to those not looking to become a quad god with endless trips up and down the stairs. But fear not. An evening with a good book on the rooftop or a leisurely stroll to a favorite downtown eatery is but a quick elevator ride away.
