Dr. Fowzia Ghouse has joined Edward Medical Group (EMG) at its new office located at 2132 Deep Water Ln. in Naperville. Dr. Ghouse received her medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed her residency in family practice at MacNeal Family Practice in Berwyn. Dr. Ghouse is member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Illinois Academy of Family Physicians.
Dr. Kaleem Khan, board certified family practice physician, also joins Edward Medical Group (EMG) at its new office located at 2132 Deep Water Ln. in Naperville. Dr. Khan attended medical school at the Deccan College of Medical Sciences in India. He completed his internship at Flushing Hospital and Medical Center in New York, and family practice residency at UIC-Christ Hospital and Medical Center in Oak Lawn. Dr. Khan is a member of the American Medical Association and American Academy of Family Practice.
The City of Naperville announced that Rachel Mayer, who previously served as the finance director for the City of Joliet, has been named Naperville’s new finance director. Mayer, who will be responsible for Naperville’s total city budget of $436 million, was selected from more than 200 applicants. Prior to serving as finance director for the City of Joliet, Mayer served as a capital budget manager for the Illinois State Toll Highway Authority and a budget analyst for the Illinois Bureau of the Budget Office of the Governor. Mayer holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Accounting from Saint Xavier University and is also a certified public accountant.
Naperville CARES, a volunteer-driven organization whose mission is to provide emergency financial support and resources for local families in crisis, announced that Greg Kunkel, senior vice president and chief credit officer of Wheaton Bank & Trust, has joined the nonprofit as a member of its board of directors.
Lee Ann Goodson has been named director of community and government relations for Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare, effective April 9. Goodson will focus her efforts on Edward’s service area including Naperville, Plainfield, Aurora, Bolingbrook, Lisle, Oswego, Romeoville, Warrenville, Woodridge, Yorkville and surrounding areas. Goodson, a resident of Plainfield with two children, replaces Sandy Benson who retired April 11 after nearly 25 years at the health system. Benson plans to continue as an active Rotarian and President of the Naperville Library Board of Trustees, and maintain her involvement in numerous other community volunteer activities. Goodson had been a District 5 Will County Board Member since first elected in 2002. She also worked as County Government Coordinator for House Republican Leader Jim Durkin and is a Commissioner of the Forest Preserve District of Will County. She resigned her current posts when she joined Edward-Elmhurst in April.

After 15 years in the Ogden Avenue location, john greene Realtor’s Oswego office recently underwent a major remodel that included adding sleek finishes, high tech components, and a coffee bar. These new amenities were unveiled in March at an open house attended by leaders of Oswego’s business community, including Chamber President, Angie Hibben and Oswego Rotary Club co-Presidents, Brian Caldwell and Michelle Brown. The remodeled office also includes two 10-foot wooden tables created by a local woodworker using reclaimed barn wood from a nearby dairy barn that dates back to 1870.
Edward Medical Group (EMG) has opened a new Walk-In Clinic at 3 South 517 Winfield Road in Warrenville. The Walk-In Clinic is in the same building that is home to offices of the Edward Neurosciences Institute. The Walk-In Clinic offers routine treatment and preventive care, without an appointment, seven days a week, Monday–Friday, 4–7:30 p.m. and Saturday–Sunday, 9 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Clinic services are provided by board certified family nurse practitioners and physician assistants of EMG, the primary care practice of Edward Hospital, which has more than 70 board certified family practice, internal medicine and specialty physicians who treat patients of all ages.

Design & Promote, a Naperville inbound marketing company, was honored with the Annual Award for Business Excellence (AABE) in the 24th annual competition sponsored by the Daily Herald Business Ledger. Bruce Jones, CEO of Design and Promote, accepted the award at the recognition event, which was held March 12 at Medinah Banquets in Addison. The AABEs recognize business achievement, growth, and community involvement. Design & Promote was one of four businesses honored this year in the Small Company (1-50 employees) category for their impressive growth, community involvement and business achievement. The six-employee team at the Naperville web design firm includes SEO specialists, marketing consultants and graphic designers who are committed to creating effective websites, graphics and marketing programs that convert customers for their clients. Design & Promote is an active supporter of many organizations in the area, including the Naperville Chamber of Commerce. They are a past finalist in the Naperville Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award competition.
Forbes Travel Guide unveiled its official 2014 Forbes Travel Guide Star Rating list, naming the luxurious Hotel Arista as a new Four-Star Hotel. The hotel will be showcased with all of the 2014 Star Rating recipients on ForbesTravelGuide.com. Hotel Arista is the latest addition to the luxury travel ratings that have been the gold standard in the hospitality industry since 1958. Hotel Arista, which prides itself on being an independent, boutique hotel, has received a number of recognitions in recent years. The hotel was the first LEED certified hotel in Illinois and is a AAA/CAA four-diamond award winner. Of the eight Illinois hotels that received a rating from Forbes Travel Guide, Hotel Arista is the only recipient not located in the city of Chicago.
