Baseball enthusiasts have another local team to support—the Chicago Dogs—with a playful name that couldn’t be more Midwest Americana. The independent team will play its inaugural home opener May 25 against Sioux Falls at Impact Field, a new $60 million, 6,300-seat stadium in Rosemont. Team manager Butch Hobson joins the Chicago Dogs with more than 30 years’ experience in both major and minor league baseball, including three seasons as the manager of the Boston Red Sox.
