Pantry Expansion

Looking to address a 50 percent jump in food insecurity throughout DuPage, Kane, Kendall, and Will Counties since 2019, Loaves & Fishes Community Services recently announced the launch of a $15 million campaign to expand food access and build the capacity to meet this rising need. One key initiative of its Nourish Together campaign is a planned expansion of the pantry’s Food Distribution Hub, which will nearly double the size of the Aurora facility to 62,000 square feet, enabling greater storage, improved distribution, and enhanced collaboration with partner pantries through shared resources and cobuying opportunities. May 6 marked the groundbreaking of Hub 2.0. The project has received a $2.5 million leadership gift from DuPage County and is now seeking public support as well.
