Unmatched Manor

In June 2020, real estate agent Michael LaFido sold a Naperville home on Perkins Court for $4.75 million—then the city’s highest sale of an existing home ever in public record. But in January he listed a property for more than double that price—in a prime location just minutes from downtown Naperville. The stretch of Hobson Road east of Naper and west of Wehrli has long been known for its estate-sized lots boasting million-dollar homes, but 1112 Shamrock Ct. is special for many reasons—and LaFido thinks the current market will support the sale. “For a 20,000-square-foot home,” he says, “it just flows so nicely. Everything is thought out—there is no wasted space.” Each of three main bedroom suites—one on every level—has unique amenities. Follow the heated blue stone from the first-floor en suite to its hot tub retreat. On the second level there is another featuring a balcony and kitchenette. Another, on the lower-level entertainment floor—including a billiards room, a 17-seat movie theater, and an endless-current lap pool and spa—is next to the rathskeller-style wine-tasting room, which can accommodate several hundred bottles (shown above). “The lower level, as a whole, is the nicest that I’ve ever been in,” says LaFido. “The wine room is a work of art. It’s magnificent.”
