As land for new development in Naperville becomes more scarce, a recent repurpose project illustrates another option for growth—as well as an opportunity to address ongoing affordable housing concerns. Formerly a dilapidated motel at 1350 East Ogden Avenue, Vantage Naperville Apartments by MZ Capital Partners (thereafter sold to New York-based 601W Companies) opened in April 2021 as a 112-unit community of studio and one-bedroom convertible apartments that may stand as a model for a new kind of development in the city: the radical rehab.
