This Geneva Christmas Walk stop is ready for another holiday close-up

Even outside the holiday season, some homes just seem to have that Christmas spirit. They radiate the kind of warm, decor-ready vibe that makes passersby, even in the middle of summer, ponder what they might look like when lovingly decked out in holiday regalia.

That certainly must have been the feeling the organizers of the annual Geneva Christmas Walk had a few years back when they added the custom-built estate at 39W915 Catlin Square to their route. Here was a home, after all, with its expansive wraparound front porch and welcoming entryway, that practically begs to be festooned with pine, ribbons, and lights to ring in the season. And now on the market for just under $2 million, it’s ready for new owners to come in and give it their own holiday touch.

The good news is that beyond those double front doors, the interior is just as ideal for holiday gathering and entertaining. Whether it’s relaxing in the three-season room, braving the winter chill with a hot toddy on the back patio with its stone fireplace, or convening in the high-end kitchen (which includes its own cozy fireplace), there are plenty of spaces to share some good cheer. In the high-ceilinged finished basement, meanwhile, guests can toast the season around the custom granite bar and in the adjoining pub seating area (also with its own fireplace), enjoy a Hollywood favorite in the luxurious home theater, or host their own production or karaoke night on the built-in stage tucked behind the big screen (complete with backstage costume area/green room).
