Watch the Birdies

Golf course views are just one aspect of the sporting life in this Naperville home

The golf course setting alone would probably be enough to attract certain prospective buyers to the property at 1017 Royal Bombay Court in Naperville, now on the market for $2.775 million.
How many amateur duffers, after all, would enjoy watching the parade of Cress Creek regulars challenge the par-3 sixth hole from the comfort of their deluxe backyard patio? (Or, even better, from the bubbling waters of the built-in hot tub?) It’s part of the voyeuristic curiosity inherent to the game of golf, wherein the only thing better than playing a round oneself is watching others take their shots.

But in this home the sports-related amenities don’t end with that backyard viewing perch. Downstairs, a golf simulator invites more participatory fun, while a main-level sport court allows year-round, weather-agnostic basketball.

Nonsporting types, meanwhile, can find plenty of places to indulge their passions, including the kitchen, which includes a homey sitting area tucked amid its expanse that listing agent Nicole Jurjovec of John Greene, Realtor rates among her favorite spots in the house. Other diversions include a wine room, a spacious three-seasons room with radiant heat, and, for when the occasion calls for a more passive brand of entertainment, a basement bar and deluxe theater room—where you can screen Caddyshack, of course, but you don’t have to.
