APPOINTMENTS

Naperville Community Unit School District 203 Board of Education has appointed Marcy Boyan as its chief financial officer/chief school business official. Boyan has spent the last ten years working in education and previously served as the assistant superintendent and chief school business official for Addison School District 4 and the director of business services for Oswego CUSD 308.

Family Shelter Service has named Naperville native and current Bolingbrook resident Lauren DeSimone as the organization’s new director of advancement. DeSimone was formerly the annual giving coordinator for the same Wheaton-based social service agency.

 

KemperSports, which oversees foodservice operations for Cantigny Park and Cantigny Golf, has appointed Christopher Pieters its new food and beverage director. Pieters was previously the general manager of Sullivan’s Steakhouse in Naperville.

 

Professional services firm Sikich LLP recently hired John Yim as its chief financial officer. Yim previously served as global finance director for the human capital and benefits business segment at Willis Towers Watson.

 

AWARDS

PDM Plumbing, Heating, Cooling has been named the best company in Will County in four categories by the readers of  The Herald-News. PDM was chosen for best heating and air conditioning, best plumbing service, best business-to-business service and best employer with fewer than fifty employees.

The 2017 President’s Award recipients, who made significant contributions to Forest Preserve District of DuPage County programs, were Lynette Heimann of Aurora, Joe Rieger of Lombard, Susan Benjamin of Carol Stream, Christopher Bowen of Westmont, Vicky Sroczynski of Darien, Tom Teune of Wheaton, Donna Laidlaw of Wheaton, Ruth Anne Mielke of Warrenville, James and Helen Vick of Wheaton, Chris Cizek of Wheaton, Charles Kelly of Naperville, and Dianne Entwhistle of Elmhurst.

Becker’s Hospital Review has named Edward Hospital—for the second year in a row—to its list of the nation’s “100 Great Community Hospitals.” Edward is one of only five community hospitals in Illinois to make the 2017 list.

Naperville residents Ronald Stenger and Kristina Van Liew were recently named to the Barron’s list of America’s Top 1,200 Advisors: 2017 State-by-State. Stenger is a managing director and financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in Oak Brook. Van Liew is a managing director, institutional consulting director and financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in Chicago.

The International Association of Fire Chiefs recently presented its 2017 Heart Safe Community Award to the Naperville Fire Department in recognition of the agency’s efforts to improve therapies for patients of sudden cardiac arrest. Notable initiatives are the CPR/AED Program taught by Naperville Firefighter/Paramedics throughout the community, placement of public access AEDs throughout the city and its E-Bridge early notification application with Edward Hospital Emergency Medical Services System.

The City of Naperville named Theresa Brock its 2017 Telecommunicator of the Year. Brock has been an emergency telecommunicator—the link between the public and emergency responders—in the city for four years. Brock was selected and trained as a member of the first Naperville Tactical Dispatch Team.
