There’s something elemental about swinging in the breeze on a beautiful day. Kids on the playground know this, but now furniture that moves is capturing adult fans, too.

Hanging egg chairs, hammocks, and swing chairs offer a more sophisticated take on the backyard swing, cushioning those who use them in coziness while they gently sway.

“Our team has noticed a growing interest in designs that offer a form of movement, which could be in part due to clients seeking more versatility from their furniture,” says Maggie Gienger, director of interior design at Arhaus.

The home furniture and accessories retailer has introduced the Crew hanging chair and the Milos outdoor swivel lounge chair as part of its Sea & Shore collection, outdoor furniture inspired by the aesthetic of the Greek Islands that combines durable materials and weather-resistant fabrics.
