Retired Naperville police chief Robert Marshall was presented with the Kids’ Champion Award during the KidsMatter 20th Anniversary Gala on September 17. Instrumental in the development of the nonprofit, Marshall was recognized for his personal, professional, and community-wide work with youth empowerment.

“Bob is a wonderful example of KidsMatter’s vision—empowering youth to realize their purpose, know and understand their value, and help them find their pathway,” says KidsMatter board president Dr. Laura Bokar. “When public safety professionals collaborate with nonprofits like KidsMatter, we can give young people the tools to be good citizens who bring great value to the future of the community.”

Marshall served the City of Naperville from 1977 until his retirement in July.
