Lauren Fasolo of Ellce Designs appointed this modern farmhouse with contemporary but rustic features, perfect for a young family of five.
“‘We did a walkthrough at the [Merchandise] Mart for inspiration,’ says Fasolo, a Harrington College of Design graduate who just opened a coach house showroom and studio space near downtown Naperville.”
Bathroom His-and-hers vanities and a soaking tub in the master bath of this month’s featured home
Living Room Shiplap is a popular interior wall finish thanks to its rustic charm and subtle texture (and Chip and Joanna Gaines’ HGTV show “Fixer Upper”).
The open-concept home was designed by Richard Olsen of G.O. Architectural Design in Hinsdale and Lucy Stopsky of Oakley Home Builders in Downers Grove.
Kitchen A built-in Subzero refrigerator integrates seamlessly with solid-wood cabinets from Brakur Custom Cabinetry in Shorewood.
Rustic elements like reclaimed wood beams (from a farm in Ohio) carry the farmhouse theme throughout the home.
Breakfast Nook Reclaimed beams frame the cozy and bright dining alcove with windows facing the back patio and yard. Hartmann&Forbes custom shades adorn the sunlit room, along with a custom table made by Naperville’s Wehrli Furniture. Linen slipcover chairs from Lee Industries can be brought into the dining room when needed.
Dining Room
Built-in open-wire cabinets and a concrete-style countertop anchor the formal dining room off the foyer. Fasolo’s workroom created the draperies and shades with textiles from Schumacher.
