A 24,000-seat stadium OK’d for Oswego

The Oswego Village Board recently approved a special use permit that paves the way for an outdoor cricket stadium to be built. Set to roll out in four phases (which will increase fan capacity from 2,000 to 4,000 to 6,000 to an eventual 24,000) on a vacant 33-acre site at the corner of Tuscany Trail and Orchard Road, the Breybourne Cricket Stadium and other amenities (including a restaurant and hotel) are being developed by Chakra 360, whose CEO is Oswego resident Paresh Patel, at a total estimated cost of around $100 million. “Breybourne Stadium will not only provide an exceptional venue for players and spectators but also help foster a sense of community and unity among cricket enthusiasts old and new, and residents of the region,” Patel says. The full project is set to be completed in late 2025 or early 2026.
