Meet your Neighbors
Number of years in Naperville: We have lived in Naperville for nearly 25 years and have enjoyed the transformation of the city over time. We decided to move downtown to be closer to all the amenities that Naperville has to offer and have found the city to have just about everything you need to make it a walkable, livable, and enjoyable place to call home.
Favorite room in this house: Our home is all about family and friends. We have a large extended family and the house is wonderful for entertaining large groups. Every inch of the house is utilized between the large front porch with swing to the back patio with built-in grill, bar, TV, and stone fireplace.
It’s hard to choose one thing we love about our home, but I think it would be its welcoming layout to entertain. The open floor plan makes it conducive for large parties but it feels very intimate too. Unique ceiling designs such as the coffered ceiling in family room, bead board in kitchen and raised ceilings in the foyer help make it feel warm and inviting, along with the stone fireplace in the family room. The hickory deep mocha colored wood floors are almost indestructible, they’ve been tested many times in the first year between hosting a Super Bowl party, our niece’s engagement party, our son’s 21st birthday and thanksgiving for our family.
Favorite thing about Naperville: We love living downtown. Many Friday’s we park our cars and won’t get back into them again until Monday morning. We love to walk everywhere. Walk to train to go to Chicago, walk to church and downtown shopping, nightlife, and wonderful cuisine. We also have taken advantage of all the wonderful festivals, and outings that are located in the downtown area.
A family tradition you’d like to share: Our location is awesome for all of the parades too. We see most from our front porch. Our newest tradition is family and friends joining us for breakfast before the parades and we usually end up cooking out after or walking to a nearby pub to finish the day.
