Though the pyrotechnics don’t start until dark, Pottawatomie Park opens at dawn for family and friends who want to make a day of it. Before the fireworks, the band, Feel Good Party Band, takes the stage in the historic pavilion at 6 p.m. until the start of the fireworks extravaganza at dark. Best views are from Pottawatomie Park, Pottawatomie Golf Course, or Ferson Creek Park.
