LITapalooza: A Literacy Love Fest invites authors and K-8 educators to mingle and collaborate. “As a former teacher I want to help authors and educators get together, talk about literacy, and bring new ideas back to the classroom,” explains Lorie Barber, Anderson’s education director. Open only to educators, this free event takes place June 20–21 at Neuqua Valley High School, at 2360 95th Street in Naperville.

Featuring contests, games, panels, and book signings, Young Adult Midwest is a bookfest for readers, authors, publishers, educators, and influencers. Author Angeline Boulley is the keynote speaker. “There are other YA festivals around the country that are huge draws for readers,” explains Ginny Werhli-Hemmeter, Anderson’s director of events and marketing. “We think the Midwest deserves one of these, and we wanted to be the ones who brought it here.” This June 21–22 event is also at Neuqua Valley High School. The $15 fee includes a $5 coupon for the onsite bookshop.
