Next time you visit Babam Back Ally Boba + Market in Wheaton for some boba tea—those now-ubiquitous tapioca pearl-studded treats, which Babam sweetens with fruit purées—save some room for its unique milk bread offerings. “They’re slightly sweet, like Hawaiian bread, only softer and fluffier,” says owner Vicky Letizia, who bakes up a sweet-potato-flavored loaf and an almond-raisin milk bread dessert that’s a superb substitute for coffee cake. —P.G.
