Crumbl Cookies
When you’re selling cookies in flavors like Kit Kat, Peaches ‘n’ Cream, and Sour Patch Kids, it’s no wonder they go fast. And, in case of Crumbl—the bakeshop that recently opened in Naperville Crossings—it’s at the rate of close to 5,000 a day. Not bad for a franchise that first opened its door just a tender four years ago. But when you’re known for a rabid TikTok following and exclusive flavors that change weekly (announced on social media every Sunday at 6 p.m.), that’s just the way the cookie crumbles. The new Naperville location employs nearly 70 area teens, who take turns sifting, rolling, and sugaring with a smile. The result? Piping-hot treats created and served by someone you likely know. 2936 Showplace Dr., Naperville

Swine Cellar
Naperville natives Jill and Dave Overstreet are taking a carnivorous approach to the small-batch trend. Tucked in next to Butera Market (corner of Olesen Drive and Chicago Avenue) is the couple’s new barbecue joint, which specializes in smoked artisan meats and scratch-made sides that will remind of you of your childhood. Deviled eggs? Check. Corn pudding? Yes. Fried pickles? Hell, yes. Try sandwiches like beef brisket topped with smoked Gouda on a French roll or the unique Surf ’n’ Swine combo with salmon and bacon with rémoulade on grilled rye. Come for the meat, stay for the hush puppies. 1264 Chicago Ave., Naperville
