Michael Englehart has been named the new President and CEO of Presence Health. Englehart replaces Sandra Bruce, who is retiring after seven years leading Presence Health and one of its predecessors, Resurrection Health Care. He will begin Oct. 1. Englehart brings nearly 20 years of health care experience to Presence Health, including more than a decade at Advocate Health Care. Most recently, Englehart served as president of Advocate Physician Partners, leading the health care system’s clinically integrated network of 4,900 physicians and 13 hospitals.

William Matjasich has been appointed Administrator of Presence McAuley Manor, Aurora. Matjasich comes to McAuley Manor with 17 years of long-term care experience as a nursing home administrator. Matjasich has a Bachelor’s in Business Administration and has extensive experience in service and operational excellence. Located on the campus of Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora, Presence McAuley Manor is a Joint Commission accredited nursing center, meeting national standards for patient/resident safety and nursing care.

Dr. Diana Calero, has joined Edward Medical Group’s (EMG’s) OB/GYN offices in Naperville, Plainfield, and Oswego. Dr. Calero received her medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Presence Saint Joseph Hospital in Chicago. She has received extensive training in high-risk pregnancies, minimally invasive surgeries using the Da Vinci Surgical System and reproductive medicine.

Dr. Matthew Siegel, board certified in hematology, oncology and internal medicine, has joined the cancer care team at Edward-Elmhurst Healthcare as a medical oncologist. Dr. Siegel earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, where he also completed his residency in internal medicine and served as chief resident. Dr. Siegel completed his fellowship training in hematology/oncology at Oregon Health & Science University in Portland. Dr. Siegel is a member of several organizations, including the American Society of Hematology and the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He has volunteered for several medical missions, including visits to South Africa, Dominican Republic and Bolivia. He has also provided medical services in local communities, including PADS Homeless Shelters.

The Naperville Heritage Society, administrator of Naper Settlement, is among the recipients of the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) 2015 Sustaining Cultural Heritage Collections competitive grant program. The museum has been awarded a $50,000 grant, which will enable Naper Settlement’s staff, along with the combined expertise of the museum’s preservation team, conservation consultants and an architectural engineer, to develop a comprehensive plan to address environmental issues that pose serious threats to the museum’s historical buildings and collections. The project’s outcome will be a preservation plan that will support the Naperville Heritage Society in its mission to collect, document and preserve the history of Naperville’s past and will be a sustainable, comprehensive strategy for reducing air and water infiltration and maintaining appropriate climate control in 19 of the 30 historic buildings and structures.

It is earned by establishments that consistently receive great reviews and focus on delivering great service to customers. Chicago Premium Outlets, Lighthouse Place Premium Outlets and Pleasant Prairie Premium Outlets are among a global portfolio of 84 Simon Premium Outlets that generate billions in annual retail sales. Chicago Premium Outlets recently completed a multi-million dollar expansion that will make it the largest outlet shopping destination in the Chicago area is located off Interstate 88 at Farnsworth Avenue in Aurora. Upon final completion of the center’s 50-store expansion, new anchor stores will feature Saks Fifth Avenue Off 5th, the first Midwest outlets for eclectic lifestyle designer Robert Graham and Clarins luxury skincare, plus a range of other top-name brands.

Lextech Global Services won the Cornerstone Award presented by Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation. Will Scott, president and managing director of Lextech, accepted the award. Founded in 2001, Lextech moved to an office building in Downers Grove in April 2015. The 23,000 square foot space accommodates up to 125 employees. The company also has offices in Chicago and Champaign-Urbana. Lextech has a three-year growth rate of 215 percent, and was ranked among the top 150 software companies on the 2014 Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest growing companies. 

IT recruiting company Next Step Systems is celebrating its 20th anniversary. Next Step Systems, founded in 1995, specializes in placing information technology professionals of all levels and specializes in full-time permanent positions across all industries throughout the U.S.

New Business

The NaperLaunch business startup center is now open in the Nichols Library in downtown Naperville. The newly redesigned space on the buildings upper floor opened for business on June 17. The space provides mentoring opportunities, workshops, and library resources to help entrepreneurs launch and grow their businesses. The multipurpose center also features a 3-D printer, video editing software, and other technology designed to help entrepreneurs create logos, commercials and business marketing materials. The renovations were part of a $1 million project to improve the Nichols and Naper Boulevard library branches.

The Walter Payton Liver Center, a dedicated medical and surgical unit at the University of Illinois Hospital, providing quality, innovative, multidisciplinary care to patients with liver disease, is now open in the Western suburbs. In June, Dr. Sean Koppe, director of Hepatology at the University of Illinois Hospital & Health Sciences System was instrumental in bringing the Walter Payton Liver Center Outreach Clinic to Edward-Elmhurst. The clinic offers convenient consultation services in the Western suburbs for patients with cirrhosis, complex liver conditions and hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC). 

Sikich LLP, a leading professional services firm specializing in accounting, technology, investment banking and advisory services, recently announced a transaction with Altico Advisors that will bolster Sikich’s technology service offerings and expand its presence on the East Coast. Based near Boston in Marlborough, Mass., Altico specializes in implementing and supporting Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM and NetSuite solutions for middle-market clients across a mix of industries, including manufacturing, distribution and professional services. The transaction adds Altico’s ERP and CRM offerings to Sikich’s broad portfolio of technology solutions. Founded in 2005, Altico Advisors now has more than 30 employees and $8 million in annual revenue. 

The Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce (NACC) and the Better Business Bureau serving Chicago and Northern Illinois (BBB) have entered into a strategic alliance to bring the strengths of both organizations to support businesses that serve the Naperville area and its consumers. The alliance between the NACC and the BBB is aimed at benefiting both businesses and consumers. The two groups will be cooperating on several projects and joint events. Together the NACC and the BBB plan to host four events in 2015-2016, as well as help to promote the value of each other’s organization. Approximately 1,300 businesses are members of the NACC and the BBB has more than 9,000 BBB Accredited Businesses.
