Multiple designers are pointing toward minimalistic flooring concepts for 2021—think black and white mid-mod tile and small hexagon designs. But one example—the Hexa line, a porcelain stoneware mosaic tile made in Italy by Terratina Ceramiche—offers a modern interpretation with a colorful and versatile twist.

“The Hexa product is great,” says Frank Palumbo, who is the director of sales at Platform Surfaces (platformsurfaces.com), “because it’s one of the few that has bright bold colors that are floor-rated.”

It can be used on both residential and commercial floors, he says, plus there is a glossy version for the walls. “It has a nice floor/wall combo. The color palette is wonderful, so you get an opportunity to be bold in your space.”

Deep navy is one of Hexa’s 15 matte colors.
