‘The Angriest Monster on Mill Street,’ ‘The Bounciest Monster on Mill Street,’ ‘The Messiest Monster on Mill Street,’ ‘The Strongest Monster on Mill Street,’ and ‘The Awesome-est Monster on Mill Street’ by Sarah Sparks

After a traumatic brain injury, Naperville resident Sarah Sparks transformed her healing journey into a whimsical and empowering book series called Monsters on Mill Street. Through these books, Sparks helps children see how resilience, patience, and calmness can help them manage the ups and downs of everyday life.

The series includes the Angriest, the Bounciest, the Messiest, the Strongest, and the Awesome(-est), respectively, monsters on Mill Street (the latter two were released this year). The books’ themes range from grit and a growth mindset to overcoming social anxiety and building self-confidence.

“Through Monsters on Mill Street, I hope to give kids the language, courage, and imagination to understand themselves and give parents stories that open the door to honest conversations,” Sparks says. “These books offer both a safe space for children and a tool for the grownups who love them.”
