In honor of Presidents Day on Feb. 16, Naper Settlement hosted several activities including readings of the Declaration of Independence.

Congrats to 446 locals who can claim a Guinness World Records title for taking part in the world’s largest pickleball lesson, smashing the previous record of 250. The lesson took place simultaneously Feb. 12 in several DuPage locations, including Naperville North High School and Sure Shot Pickleball in Naperville. The event was organized for nonprofit KidsMatter, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.

Hosted at Abbington Distinctive Banquets in Glen Ellyn, the 14th annual Chefs’ Culinary Celebration raised more than $250,000 on Feb. 22 for the West Suburban Community Pantry. Participants included chef Raul Armenta of Belgio’s Catering (with event host Dionne Miller of ABC7 News Sports) and chef Zac Rogers of Spice Dog Provisions.

More than 500 climbers of all skill levels (including local firefighters) raced up 31 floors to the top of Oakbrook Terrace Tower at the 2026 Fight For Air Climb on March 8. The annual event raised more than $170,000 to help support more than 1.5 million people living with lung disease in Illinois.
