Since the pandemic has changed the way people socialize, the home bar trend has been on a definite uptick, says Candace Morgan, cofounder and VP operations for the Chicago Bar Shop. In addition to selling bar-related products at its Lincoln Park Chicago Bar Store, the company designs and builds custom bars for commercial and residential properties, from basements to rooftops and everything in between.

“We have definitely seen an increase in home bar setups since the pandemic hit,” she says. “and really all areas of home bar entertaining. We have been getting a ton of calls from people who want to install a new bar, or upgrade their current bars.”

Another trend Morgan is seeing: wine rooms, which pair storage with a wine tasting area.
