Providing holiday hope for area children

The ninth annual DuPage County Toys for Tots Gala was held November 9 at the Hilton Lisle/Naperville, kicking off the holiday season by collecting over 200 toys and raising nearly $7,500 for the foundation.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, desserts by Dark Horse Pastries, and an open bar at the cocktail party while bidding on raffles, snapping pics in the photo booth, and dancing. Danielle Tufano, program director and morning show cohost at 95.9FM The River, emceed the event.

“I have so many happy memories of Christmas as a child. It breaks my heart to know there are children out there who won’t have the same kind of memories,” says Nicole Comis, who organizes the annual event. “I want to help DuPage County Toys for Tots fulfill their motto: Every Child Deserves a Little Christmas.”

The Toys for Tots Foundation assists the U.S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas.

In DuPage County alone, Toys for Tots provided toys to over 27,000 children last year.
