Matcha Elixir
Yield: One serving
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 tablespoon coconut butter
Pinch of cinnamon
½ teaspoon matcha powder
½ teaspoon collagen peptides
8 fluid ounces hot water
Place all ingredients in a blender.
Begin by blending ingredients on low, then progress to high speed.
Blend on high speed for 1 minute until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Pour into a warm mug or bowl.
Note: While this dairy-free drink is paleo-friendly, collagen is animal-derived, so it is not vegan.
Green Goodness
The caffeinated green tea powder known as matcha contains powerful antioxidants believed to have cancer-fighting effects on the body, but each ingredient packs its weight in this frothy elixir. Earthy matcha is the star flavor-wise, while cinnamon adds a hint of spice. Coconut butter is a nondairy way of adding richness and healthy fats, plus protein-rich collagen, touted for its natural skin care and antiaging powers. And no fancy equipment or pro techniques are required—this pick-me-up drink is a quick blend away.
