More than 33 girls selected prom dresses March 16 at the invitation-only pop-up boutique created by Dress Up 203. This new initiative was developed by seven moms to provide upcycled and new dresses for Naperville North and Naperville Central high school students who may not have the means to purchase formalwear. More than 450 dresses were donated by the community, and three volunteer seamstresses were on hand ensure the perfect fit.

Adrian Lam was surprised April 9 with a trip to Hawaii from the Nikolas Ritchel Foundation as his wish was granted following his battle with Burkitt lymphoma, which is an aggressive non-Hodgkin B-cell lymphoma. Lam took a gap year from the University of Illinois to undergo treatment. His former Naperville North water polo teammates, friends, and family were there for the celebration.
Al Carius—who helmed the NCC Cardinals men’s cross-country team for 54 years—was the keynote speaker at the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Spring General Membership Luncheon March 20 at North Central College.
Seventeen local shops showcased spring fashions at the Downtown Naperville Alliance’s Fashion Brunch April 6 at Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House.
Richard Montañez shared his story of his rise from a Frito-Lay janitor to a company executive—including his creation of Flamin’ Hot Cheetos—April 4 at the McAninch Arts Center in Glen Ellyn.
