North Central College’s Division III-winning Cardinals football team was among the various NCAA champions welcomed to the White House June 12 for College Athlete Day.
Hosted by VFW Post 8081 and the Wheaton Park District, 2,023 U.S. flags were on display June 30 to July 4 at Seven Gables Park to salute active-duty military members, veterans, first responders, and hometown heroes. Each flag represented an individual and told a story.
With such mediums as mud, foam, and slime, kids had multiple opportunities to get mucky at the annual Mess Fest on June 24 at the DuPage Children’s Museum.

About 150 people attended the SHARE Wings of Hope Angel Garden Blessing & Butterfly Release on June 20 at Edward Hospital in Naperville. Now in its 34th year, the event supports those who have experienced a miscarriage, ectopic pregnancy, stillbirth, or neonatal death.
Marquette Companies welcomed more than 300 real estate industry leaders, partners, and community members at its June 13 party on Water Street celebrating the firm’s 40 years in business.
