More than 300 guests attended NAMI DuPage’s annual Shine a Light Gala on Saturday, May 5, at the Chicago Marriott Naperville. Upon arriving, guests enjoyed champagne and appetizers as they perused the silent and live auction items. WGN Radio’s Wendy Snyder emceed the evening with auctioneer Greg Dellinger (husband of Naperville magazine editor Michelle Dellinger). Because the event fell on Cinco de Mayo, the organization embraced a fiesta theme, complete with a strolling guitarist performing traditional Mexican music during dinner. Afterward, participants danced to the retro rock music of Rick Lindy and the Wild Ones.
NAMI DuPage has provided free mental health programs to residents of DuPage County and beyond for 33 years. Last year, it served over 33,000 children and adults through its supportive services, educational classes, community training, social/recreation activities and workforce development programs. Proceeds from the Shine a Light Gala help NAMI DuPage offer free mental health programs.
