During the Veterans Day program at Naperville Central High School, alum Sudip Bose shared with students his experience as a military doctor. Bose was awarded the Bronze Star for completing one of the longest combat tours by any physician since World War II. He also treated Saddam Hussein after his capture by U.S. forces.
In November, families and team members of Hummingbird Pediatric Therapies donated brand-new toys, diapers, a stroller, and other supplies to Almost Home Kids in Naperville.
Our very own dining critic, Phil Vettel, won the 2024 Culinary Excellence Award, the highest honor of the Jean Banchet Awards, which recognize Chicago’s culinary talent. Vettel worked as a food critic for the Chicago Tribune for more than 30 years before joining our team in 2022.
Over Veterans Day, a 233-foot-long replica of the Vietnam Wall of Remembrance was displayed near Naperville’s Riverwalk Grand Pavilion. The wall lists the names of more than 58,000 U.S. service members who were killed between 1957 and 1975.
